i like understanding how things work at a low level. i'd rather spend three hours figuring out why something broke than five minutes making it work again. whether that's a packet trace, a flaky network, or something i've deliberately pulled apart in my home lab — i want to know why, not just that it works. currently working toward comptia a+, n+ and s+, with ccna the longer term goal.

when i'm not at a screen i'm usually outside — climbing, hiking, or riding and wrenching on motorcycles.
